Eveleth Green Gallery:
Connect/DisconnectRobin Mayberry, Scott Mayberry

Connect/ Disconnect is a collection by Scott and Robin Mayberry that explores memory, relationships and the constancy of change.

Scott’s intricate pen and ink drawings look at the weight of nostalgia in everyday objects, and how images from childhood continue to symbolize the complexities of adulthood. Robin’s work in fiber and encaustic explores the echoes of history through rich layers, looking at the way the past paves the present even as it is forgotten beneath fresh experiences.

Brought together into a cohesive collection through a subtle palette, Connect/ Disconnect is a journey through the mind, both abstract and image-driven, fantastical and rooted in life’s daily stage.

The Mystery of Is-ness… – John Hauth

John Hauth uses cartoon colors, cartoon imagery, and complexity in various degrees within a shallow space.  The imagery is distorted, scratched, and repeatedly over-painted showing his own grappling with each image and its context in each painting.

Hauth grew up in a scientific community and holds a science degree as well as a degree in art.  Each painting is considered an experiment, hearkening back to Bugs Bunny cartoons and attempting to invent comic iconography that portrays big ideas.
