Camps will be held in person, in our courtyard or ceramics studio, with a limit of 6 students.  Please read our COVID protocol to the right. You can register in person or call 509-925-2670.

Camp 1: June 21-25, Clay Creatures

9am-12pm – FULL
1-4pm – FULL
Ages 7-12

In this class, students will learn handbuilding ceramic techniques to create real and imaginary animal inspired sculptures.

Camp 2: June 28-July 2, Under The Sea

9am-12pm – Little artists ages 5-8 FULL
1pm-4pm – Ages 7-12 FULL

Dive on in & get your feet wet studying the mysterious and amazing creatures deep below the sea. Hone your drawing & painting skills, work with lots of fun materials from our found objects room,  play with a little model magic, and let the currents of creativity sweep you away in this camp.

Camp 3: July 5-9, Comics & Illustration

 9am-12pm, Ages 7-12 – FULL
Develop a character & bring it to life with paint, pencils, & your imagination! Work on narratives & illustrations to create your own comic strips.

Camp 4: July 12-16, Beautiful Bugs

9am-12pm – FULL
1-4pm, Ages 7-12

Grab a magnifying glass & take a closer look at the beauty of the bugs & insects around you. Learn how bugs have influenced and inspired art all over the world in this mixed media art class!

Camp 5: July 19-23, Tell Your Story

Two Sessions: 9am-12pm OR 1-4pm, Ages 7-12
Write a short story or poem and learn how to illustrate it through drawing and watercolor painting. Turn your creations into a hand-crafted book!

Camp 6: July 26-30, Handbuilding Pottery

Ages 7-12
9am-12pm –FULL
1-4pm – FULL

In this class, students will learn handbuilding ceramic techniques to create functional pottery!

Camp 7: Aug 2-6, Painting in Nature

9am-12pm – Little artists ages 5-8
1pm-4pm – Ages 7-12 – FULL

Set up an easel & grab a palette as we study art out in the courtyard and around downtown Ellensburg!

Camp 8: Aug 9-13, Clay

9am-12pm – Handbuilding, ages 7-12 –FULL
We are excited to have Drew Liedtke, art instructor at Thorp School, joining us at Gallery One to teach a fun clay handbuilding camp!

1pm-4pm – Wheel Throwing, ages 10-15 –FULL
Older students get to join Drew Liedtke in this fun wheel throwing class!

COVID-19 Protocol for Gallery One IN PERSON CLASSES

We continue to comply with all other regulations and have taken the following steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19:

We are doing our best to prevent the spread of COVID and to adhere to the Governor’s recommendations. We care about your health first and foremost. Please adhere to the following guidelines.  Our goal is to minimize, if not erase, any possible exposure to any other community member.  Should you have any special circumstance, need to clarify, or take exception with any of the below, reach out directly to director@gallery-one.org.  In a quickly changing world, these are subject to change. We appreciate your diligence and CARE for each other.

WORKSHOPS AND CLASSES:

STUDENTS

  • Must be able to properly wear a face mask for the duration of the class.
  • Required social distance of 6’. If you are attending a workshop with members from the same household, you may sit closer to each other.
  • Refrain from coming in if you exhibit any sign of illness and do not come in if you have a fever.
  • Follow sanitary processes throughout the facility (use soap, hand sanitizer, keep doors propped open).
