Creative Classes for Youth

We offer a variety of art experiences and individual growth through drawing, painting, ceramics, art history, found objects, printmaking, and much more through our Art After School program. We plan to continue teaching art techniques, freedom of expression, problem solving, and the elements and principles of art and design. Student drop-off  for classes starts at 3pm; instruction begins at 3:30pm for afternoon sessions.

Starting spring quarter 2022, masks will be optional for Art After School Sessions . Please read our full Covid Protocol for more information on how we plan to keep your child and your family safe.

SPRING QUARTER: March 28 – June 17

Tuesday: 3-5pm, (ages 5-8) – FULL
Young Artist Sampler – Amy Davison
A fun introduction to our gallery with projects for the younger students who are getting started in art. We will use a variety of mediums and techniques they are sure to be proud to show off.

Tuesday: 3-5pm, (ages 7-12) – FULL
Clay Club – Crista Ann Ames
These classes are a great way to get introduced to the magic of clay. Beginner students can learn hand building and wheel throwing techniques, and advanced students can sharpen and expand their skills.

Wednesday: 3-5pm, (ages 7-12)
Mixed Media Design – Becky Parmenter
Have fun discovering how design basics can make your art come to life. Students will have fun practicing a variety of skills and using different materials to create interesting artworks.

Wednesday: 3-5pm, (ages 7-12) – FULL
Clay Club – Crista Ann Ames
These classes are a great way to get introduced to the magic of clay. Beginner students can learn hand building and wheel throwing techniques, and advanced students can sharpen and expand their skills.

Thursday: 3-5pm, (ages 7-12)
Fabric & Fiber – Amy Davison
This class will explore different fabric and fiber techniques from weaving, embroidery and hand stitching to other wearable artworks.

Friday: 10-11am, (ages 3-5)
Art of Play – Amy Davison – $5 drop-in. Must be accompanied by an adult.
This is a class for young preschool aged artists and an accompanying adult to experience color, texture, form through various materials and play. We sing songs, do art and read a book.  A great way to help show parents a fun way to bring art into your home while working on skills that will help in school. $5 per class Drop In Punch Cards available at the front desk during business hours.

Comic & Illustration – Jacque Trujillo
Back by popular demand! Join Jacque as she teaches how to draw and develop your own sense of style and characters, perspective, and more!

Our classes are offered fall, winter, and spring quarters and follow the Ellensburg School District schedule. We have the same holidays and breaks. Scholarships are available. Request applications at Gallery One’s front desk or download from the link at the top of the page.
