Soupline Fundraiser

Lindsey Salmonson is a community-taught potter best known for her bright and bold functional stoneware. She enjoys exploring the materials science* behind ceramic surface decoration as well as the mechanics of motion behind wheel-thrown forms. She takes a cue from Ms. Frizzle’s motto “Take Chances, Make Mistakes!” and has a vast collection of very beautiful to downright hideous pottery experiments. Being a part of the collaborative spirit of Gallery One’s Ceramic Studio ‘laboratory’ has been integral to her growth and artistic development. This Soup Bowl Series is inspired by power of community by way of her favorite shared meals across North America.

*Materials science refers to the multidisciplinary field of engineering, chemistry and physics that studies the properties and behaviour of materials.
