Scott Mayberry is a painter, illustrator, and mixed-media sculptor based in Ellensburg. Working across encaustic, acrylic, drawing, and assemblage, his art explores mechanization, archetypes, environmental collapse, and the strange emotional undercurrents of contemporary life.
He uses humor, distortion, and juxtaposition to reflect the weirdness of being alive in a rapidly changing world. His work reflects an interest in collapse and reinvention, in the uneasy relationship between modern technologies and instinct, in the tension between wonder and anxiety.
His often humorous and quirky pieces are influenced by artists ranging from Hieronymus Bosch to Dr. Seuss. His work has been exhibited throughout the Pacific Northwest and nationally.
