Becky Parmenter
Becky has worked with children in a school setting for 20 years. She is currently working as the Education Coordinator/Instructor at Gallery One Visual Art Center. She is in charge of organizing education classes for the Gallery. She is always on the lookout for ways to share art with students. Becky has taught art in a variety of settings, including preschool, public school, children at risk workshops and art after school programs. This fall, she was awarded a scholarship for Teaching Artist Training, by the Seattle Art Commission, which focuses on Learning Plans. Becky is working with a local elementary school, with her co worker, creating and teaching art projects to parent volunteers to take into the school. The Community School of the Arts also has a few venues in town to show our work, so she is always creating the next exhibition for children’s art. Becky loves her job and feels honored to work with kids of all ages!
Print Your Own Bag (PYOB)
Friday, June 2, 3:30 – 7pm @ Gallery One
Print on your Confab Tote (free with registration). Choose how you’d like to decorate your bag using colors from nature, natural stamps, and stencils. Learn how to do these techniques from Becky Parmenter, and take home a one-of-a-kind, (and reusable!) Confab souvenir. This year’s bags were stenciled by local artist, Jason Clifton.
