Julie Prather and Jacquelyn Galbraith – The Julie & Jackie Show: Piece by Piece

Biographical and Fiber Art Information from Jacquelyn Galbraith:

Evolution: My interest in the fiber arts has evolved over the years; from clothing construction to costume creation, mask making, quilting and currently incorporating watercolor paintings in small quilts.  Along the way dying fabric and batik work were part of the process.  I keep all these acquired skills afloat like a juggler so I can draw on them as inspiration dictates.  I show my work locally, sell a piece upon occasion, and am open to do commissions upon request.

Art Education: For the most part I am self-taught through experimentation, research, and investigation.  I like the challenge of continuing to learn and employ new skills.  My art has been a good counterbalance to my academic pursuits and professional life.  Over the years I have taken a few classes, but by far the most important influence has been viewing art and architecture in the many museums and art galleries and in public spaces as often as could be made happen. I am fortunate in my craft and art endeavors to be supported by my artist husband Gary Galbraith. He has been an ever-present influence and models a strong work ethic every single day.
