Matt Johnson

My current body of work explores human interactions with our environments both physical and political. More directly, it’s a response to our involvement in the burning of forests, social inequities that keep us divided, and the frequent idiocy of politics. Whether through charred representations of large-scale blazes or the balloon documentation of policies that marginalize our minority populations, I am trying to capture the urgency and destruction that is created through our actions.
