David Samuel Robbins

David is a photographer, writer and publisher, specializing in projects about traditional cultures, documentary / street photography, ethnography and adventure travel.

He has worked on assignment throughout the world for many major magazines, including National Geographic Traveler, National Geographic Adventure, German GEO and the New York Times Magazine.

David has also served as a lead guide and photography instructor for National Geographic Expeditions’ group tours in Bhutan and Tibet.

He is the founder and Director of Photo Nomad Tours, a specialized adventure travel company offering small group cultural immersion and photography tours in Morocco, Jordan, Nepal, India, Bhutan and Myanmar.

David’s gallery prints have been exhibited internationally and are in numerous corporate and institutional permanent collections, including the Seattle Art Museum, The Microsoft Art Collection and the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film.

David has published two large format, limited edition artist’s monographs:

INDIA: Fragments from the Constellation (2021)

He is a past recipient of an Artist Trust Individual Artist Grant and the Nikon USA Award for Color Photography.
