I was raised in both the Skagit Valley and Wenatchee, Washington and I started to paint seriously by age 12. I became a professional artist after recovering from breast cancer, and art is still my calling. My inspiration comes from my daily spiritual practice and energy healing work called Attunement. My paintings express my sense of wonder and also the concern that I feel for nature and for human life on this planet. It is my desire to share both the delight and responsibility with those who view my paintings.
As an artist/educator, I teach watercolor painting in group and private classes. I offer public speaking about the many aspects of art as well as demonstrating art technique in such locations as Daniel Smith Artist Supplies.
I attended Washington State University as a fine arts major, and I graduated from the Burnley School of Professional Art in Seattle. My BS is in Human Services. I am a member of the Northwest Watercolor Society.
My husband Thomas Long and I recently sold our home of 25 years in Kent, WA. In 2020 we fulfilled a lifelong dream and traveled the American west. We have now purchased a home in Ellensburg, WA. and look forward to returning to the sunny side of the state. My paintings and prints are widely collected in the US and Canada.
