About the Artists

Renee Adams

Renee Adams creates sculptures in steel and wood that are directly inspired by the plants surrounding her home in central Washington. She works as a curator and gallery manager at Gallery One and is a co-founder of PUNCH, an art collective dedicated to supporting our local creative economy and promoting rural artists.

When not her studio she enjoys cultivating an edible and native plant garden, hunting for wild mushrooms, and sharing her love of the outdoors with others.

Renee will discuss some of the varied materials she uses in her work and her construction processes. She will also demonstrate how to bend steel without a forge and various wood carving techniques.

Justin Gibbens

Justin Gibbens is a central Washington-based painter, illustrator and muralist. He exhibits throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. When not in his studio, Gibbens spends his time spotting birds and chasing after reptilian inhabitants of the shrub-steppe. He is the co-founder of PUNCH, an artist collective that occupies the old Thorp fire station, which is where you’ll find him every Saturday.

Justin will demonstrate various watercolor techniques he uses in his unconventional natural history art which combine stylized Chinese fine-line painting with western approaches to scientific illustration.

What is PUNCH?

PUNCH Projects, the arts collective Renee and Justin co-founded will be open 12:00 – 5:00PM. An exhibition by Portland-based collage artist Alexis Hilliard opens on Saturday, May 3, 2025. Additionally, a two-piece folk/Americana group from Seattle featuring Hank Webster and Elsa Renee performs on the PUNCH stage from 3:00 – 5:00PM.

PUNCH is located in the old Thorp fire station at 10630 Thorp Highway North (easy walking distance from Justin and Renee’s!).
