Art Bumpkin is self-trained artist. He is often found making, breaking and fixing stuff. An Outsider, sometimes cutting the lawn, a Contemporary Yokel, a Post-Modern Rube, and a High Speed Luddite, in his free time he creates work out in his barn in Ellensburg, WA. After years of sporadic creation, interruption, Art Bumpkin was driven to start creating visual art again in earnest in 2024. His recent thinking and work has been centered on rural and urban identities and the divides between them both real and imagined. He often works in paint, including acrylic, enamel and watercolors. Much of his recent work was created with found objects reclaimed from his farm.
