Entwined brings together five artists from Edison, Seattle and Ellensburg with slip knots, lifelines, treble crochet, and cross stitch. You may find many of these techniques in the work on display this month. How they are used will expand your conception of the arts of knitting, crocheting or quilting. Combining yarn, thread, twine and imagination with rhythms and patterns these artists have produced thoughtful, playful and bold articulations of textile arts.

Normal associations of these crafts include your great-grandmother’s quilt made from her mother’s baby clothes, a first time scarf made for your boyfriend or girlfriend, a baby’s blanket, a potholder, a fluorescent yarn Kleenex cozy, or that nappy hand-me-down blanket your dog loves so much.  Explore how these associations are present or disregarded in this month’s exhibit. Reminisce about the past, take warmth in the community and consider your future, and how they are all entwined.
