In recognition of the centennial celebration of women’s suffrage in WA state, this joint exhibit with the Larson Gallery will highlight talented women in our region and take a deeper look at where we are now.

GALLERY ONE
Gallery One will feature works by 38 women artists from Kittitas County in addition to a three-part lecture series and poetry reading. Please join us to hear local and regional women read their poems, speak about their artwork, and share what it means to be a woman in the arts today. All events are free and will be held at Gallery One starting at 6 p.m.

February 13 Artist lecture on fine art jewelry with Jana Brevick of Seattle, Alex Chaney of Ellensburg, and Merrily Tompkins of Ellensburg
February 20 Artist Lecture on Paper in the Arts with Joan Cawley Crane and Paula Airth of Ellensburg and Jessica Pribula of Tacoma
February 27 Artist Lecture on Public Art with Sheila Klein of Bow, WA and Debbie Young of Ellensburg
February 19 Poetry Reading Local female poets share their own poems paired with poems by other female poets. Featuring readings by:

LARSON GALLERY
Yakima's Larson Gallery on the campus of YVCC will feature an exhibition of works by 42 women artists from the Yakima area in addition to a panel discussion, artist workshops and a birthday celebration with tea and refreshments.

Jan. 21, 7-8 p.m. Art and Politics: Women in the Arts Enjoy a lively in-depth discussion about women in the 20th century at the Larson Gallery with Dr. Karen Blair, and Dr. Cynthia Coe from Central Washington University, and Dr. Carli Schiffner from YVCC with Larson Gallery Director, Cheryl H. Hahn, moderating. FREE

Jan. 23 & 24, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. A Personal Journey: Artist Workshop This studio experience will provide opportunities for artists to create artwork referencing their life journey. $140 fee, members receive a discount

Jan. 30, 2-5 p.m. American Association of University Women and League of Women Voters Birthday Celebration & Pink Tea Celebrating American Association of University Women and League of Women Voters. AAUW & LWV representatives will speak. FREE

Feb. 6 & 7, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Portraits in Courage: Artist Workshop This studio experience focuses on creating collage portraits of famous women artists, suffragettes, or important women in one’s life. $140 fee, members receive a discount Instructor: Karen Allen. *
