In the Main Gallery and on the Mezzanine:
REVOLUTION
Julie Lindell

Seeking to explore an expanded concept of life, Julie Lindell’s work examines how people affect nature and nature affects people. Her chromogenic prints document an imaginary story about fallen branches forming a huge ball and traveling the world, campaigning for an end to misuse of the environment. Along the way many branch balls pick up debris left on the sides of the road. This debris also has a consciousness and a desire to join the protest, thus reminding us that everything has an awareness that we don’t yet understand, but soon will.

In addition to the prints, Lindell will be exhibiting a series of glazed ceramic branches and a video piece about her branch balls titled Revolution.

Julie Lindell is a resident potter and instructor at Pottery Northwest in Seattle. She is also a member of and treasurer for the Washington Clay Arts Association. Her works have been shown widely in Washington, California and New York winning numerous awards.
