Gallery One is pleased to host famed author, essayist and screenwriter, Salman Rushdie, for a 9:00pm reception following his talk at CWU on Wednesday, January 23rd. A packed house is expected for his lecture, "The Role of the Writer in the 21st Century" at 7:30 pm in CWU's McConnell Auditorium. Rushdie will discuss thought provoking contemporary issues, such as freedom of expression and religion's relationship to society. Rushdie will be available for book signing at the Gallery One reception. The public is welcome to attend. This event is hosted by the CWU Diversity Center and sponsored by Gallery One, the Ellensburg Public Library,the CWU Alumni Association, and the University Bookstore.
