Julie Prather has many passions in her life that she seeks to express through her work in glass and photography. She has always held an attraction for older things because she feels they gain in character as they age, becoming more distinguishable and more distinguished.

Prather’s photographs of wilted plants communicate the passion she has for nature that is past its prime. Aiming to represent the beauty and grace of these objects, her work comments on the way she sees our culture dismissing anything that is no longer at its peak. Her glasswork strives to give new life and new meaning to broken and discarded parts. Made completely of recycled glass, her lampshades take what society has cast off as no longer valuable, transforming them into something with new life and new meaning.

Prather has worked as an artist for forty-two years and expressed herself through photography, glasswork and dance.
In the presence of grace

What a wonderful image for Julie Prather's show, "Aging Gracefully"! I will be sad to miss the exhibition, as I would love to purchase one of her photographs as a constant reminder that, from the minuscule to the grand, beauty and grace surrounds us. I do hope that the GO website could add more of her pics to this article.
Good luck with the exhibit!
