Ginger, a retired veterinary technician, moved to Ellensburg in 2016 with her husband Rick from a small farm in northern Illinois. Born in Grand Haven, Michigan, Ginger was introduced to fiber construction and techniques at an early age. She learned to knit and sew at age 7. Ginger got her formal education at Michigan State University where she excelled in animal husbandry, specializing in sheep and wool science. Ginger worked with the animals at New Hope Veterinary Clinic in Rock City and taught knitting and weaving at Unique Yarns in Rockford, Ill and at her own studio for the last 20 years. She enjoys producing fiber art goods for her own enjoyment and keeps her small business stocked with goods for show and merchandising.
