Gail Entwistle

Gail has been a painter for most of her life until she encountered using wool for her art. Wool is a tactile medium that lends itself to many forms of expression. Her work consists of using wool as a 2D painting medium and a 3D sculptural medium. In Gail’s hands the barbed needle tangles the wool and out the other side comes fantasy and dreams. That is what needle felting is all about. She has been working with fiber for about 8 years and loves its feel and flexibility. The act of needle felting is almost meditative because of the repetitive motion. Fiber is a medium that lends itself to both sculpting and painting. She can conjure a world of fairies and make them come to life or sculpt a grizzly bear. Capturing the 3D likeness of a wild animal or painting a portrait or landscape benefits from her artistic skills in painting and jewelry making.
